Clery Campus Security Authority Training Web Site Launched

In 1990, Congress approved the Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act, later renamed the Clery Act. This act requires colleges and universities to keep and make public security reports, especially those that are a threat to students. For this to be successful, campus staff are identified and trained as campus security authorities (CSAs)

Working together with Cheryl Harris in the Office of Safety and Security, a new training web site was launched and is now available for CSAs. Replacing the traditional DVD and paper tests, CSAs can now download a pdf of the handout, watch the training video streamed from Ensemble video manager, and then take the test online using Qualtrics (Bowdoin’s web based survey software).
